April the 15th and 16th saw the (ISC)2 Secure Summit EMEA arrive at The Hague in the Netherlands. Hosted in the fabulous World Forum venue, shrouded in history and culture and next door to Europol and EuroJust; over 400 delegates attended from across the EMEA region.
Across the two days, speakers covered topics ranging from the reason to be optimistic in security, through to automating incident response. High energy workshops discussed the future of security, an insight into the cyber operations of the London Police and even, a trip to the South Pole!
The Chapter was represented at the Summit by the President and the Treasurer, and we have built some good relationships whilst there; notably, a potential event co-hosting partnership with B-Sides London (watch this space!).
The Summit was also attended by the (ISC)2Leadership team and board members, which was a good opportunity to discuss matters close to our members hearts directly with the leadership, such as AMF changes.
The leadership team were in attendance also for the presentation of the 2019 Information Security Leadership Awards (ISLA); during which, our very own President, James Packer, picked up the award for Senior Information Security Professional, for his work including leading the formation, operation and growth of our Chapter. Congratulations James!
