Abstract:
What on Earth does the 17th-century Swedish warship ‘’Vasa’ have to do with 21st Century Information Security?
In this talk, Chris Denbigh-White will tell the story of Sweden’s most impressive (but also most unsuccessful) warship. He will draw on some of the lessons learned from the Vasa disaster to highlight some parallels to the modern Information Security World.
Attendees will discover that some of the factors that caused a Swedish battleship with 64 cannons to sink on its maiden voyage are also some of the things that leave many businesses unable to adequately apply basic cyber security controls and in short protect their data.
